Covid-19 and some good news…

Hi everyone,

Live takes strange turns sometimes. On the 15th of March, I came back to Belgium with one of the last flights from Dubai after a successful trip down under and South Africa. I was able to squeeze into the top 200 in the world, became 2nd on the Order of Merit of the LET and as good as qualified for the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo. And then there was COVID-19.
Since then I had to watch from home how a lot of the tournaments on the LPGA and LET got canceled or postponed to next year. The Olympic Games were also postponed to 2021. The next tournaments that are on the schedule at the moment are the Scottish and British Open in August. But the question is, if they will happen. Players have to come from all over the world to one spot, which is not easy in this situation.
In the meantime, me, Thomas Pieters, Thomas Detry and Nicolas Colsaerts were able to keep practicing because of a special exemption we received from Sport Vlaanderen. Also, they decided to freeze all the world rankings for everyone.

But there is also good news, a cooperation has been established with Golazo. A famous sport company that was established 30 years ago by Bob Verbeeck. The company supports and guides different athletes like Nina Derwael, Emma Plasschaert and Thibau Nys. Also former champions as Sven Nys, Tia Hellebaut and Evi Van Acker are still active under the wings of Golazo.

My recent results, the busy tournament schedule as a result of the merger between the LPGA and the Ladies European Tour and the increasing of professionalism of women’s golf have convinced me that it was time to join Golazo. From now on they will take control over my representation, management and communication. (So my father can follow me again as my dad and play some golf himself once in a while 😉 with this I want to thank him for everything he has done for me all these years.)

Inside the Golazo Group I will be represented by two experts in the golf world, Andy Hancock and Diego Tasso.

I will talk to you all soon again and I want to thank all of you for your support. I will still work hard for all that is left in 2020 and to continue in 2021.
